Have I missed 2 bridges? I only know of the original road and rail bridges. I realise there will be plenty of other bridges crossing the river on it’s journey to the sea, but I’m not aware of any of them being referred to as the ‘Forth Bridge’. Technically if you go as far as Stirling to the M9 bridge there are 9 crossings including the oldest of them all at Stirling Bridge although I think Mike must be referring to the newish Clackmannan Bridge and the Kincardine Bridge as the other two. I think those are not in the Firth of Forth, I think it is still classified as a river and at that point it flows into the firth. I looked for a definition of how far the firth would stretch: it would be to where the tidal water meets the freshwater current resulting in brackish water. By that definition it stretches to Stirling, possibly even as far as the Stirling Bridge. Anybody looking at it at that point would I think consider it a river, probably as far as Alloa at least: however standing on the Clackmannanshire Bridge and looking upstream, I’d have no difficulty accepting that as the firth. Yes I made typo’s, but what the media of the UK has kept secret from the world was that today the Queensferry Crossing has made it all the way across the River.

The architects’ brief was to provide a Forum for Interaction that will foster synergies among the researchers in Informatics : Artificial Intelligence , Cognitive Science , Computer Science , and Systems Biology , who have been brought together, under one roof, by this development. One of the major recommendations of the international review that led to the formation of Informatics as an academic grouping at Edinburgh, was that the University should provide a building for the collocation of Informatics.

Answer 1 of 3: Hi all,Id like to take my date to watch the firworks this sunday in you suggest a good spot? Thankyou.

First time to anywhere in the UK. What is the best way to get from Edinburgh to London? I have already bought airfare from London to Dublin and from Dublin to Edinburgh and prefer not too mush more as airfare is kind of pricey. Any suggestions? When are you coming? I’m confused. If you already have tickets for London – Dublin and Dublin- Edinburgh , why do you also need a London-Edinburgh route? Is this for another trip?

Are you wanting to get to Edinburgh directly on arrival at a London airport?

We can push it back into May although none of the dates which are free are ideal. Unfortunately this is the Victoria Day holiday in Edinburgh which isn’t ideal.

Princes Street at the junction of Fredrick Street is better with the eastern side of Fredrick Street being best. I’ve been out taking photos of the Tattoo fireworks about 8 times this year and the trees in Princes Street Gardens get in your way. It might be busier on Princes Street this year as Inverleith Park is closed as a viewing area. This topic has been closed to new posts due to inactivity. Tour Dates

I have done a search from previous posts and on the tour website but I couldn’t find a definite answer to my question so hoping some one on the forum can help. We are coming for four and a half days in May and want to see Edinburgh Castle , Holyrood Palace and Royal Yacht Britannia among other thngs, but we are not sure on what days we want to visit what attractions and there is the problem, as buying tickets online requires you to pick a definite day so I thought buying the Royal Edinburgh Ticket would be a good way around this problem as long as the tickets from the tour company don’t have a definite date stamped on them.

Does anyone know if this is the case? If there is no date on the tickets for the Castle etc then we could visit on which ever day suited us. I am aware that the bus riding part of the ticket package is only valid for 48hrs but I think the entry tickets are valid longer, I’m just not sure if there is any date on them. The tour bus part of the Royal Edinburgh ticket is only valid for 48 hours and this starts at the point when you get on the first bus.
